LED is one of the best-studied light treatments in skincare, and the headline numbers are why everyone wants it.

Up to 36% softer-looking wrinkles. In a trial of 76 people, red and near-infrared LED softened the look of wrinkles by up to 36% and improved skin elasticity by up to 19%, over a course of eight sessions. Each person had light on one side of the face and a dummy light on the other, so the difference showed side by side.

Softer, smoother, firmer-feeling skin. In a second study, 36 people had nine sessions of 633nm red and 830nm near-infrared light over five weeks. Those are exactly the wavelengths Dermalux uses. Measured wrinkles fell, and people rated their skin softer, smoother and firmer.

What Dermalux is

At PURE we use Dermalux, the British LED brand. Dermalux devices use three precise wavelengths of light:

• Red light at 633 nanometres, the glow-giver
• Near-infrared light at 830 nanometres, which you cannot see but your skin loves
• Blue light at 415 nanometres, the third shade in the Dermalux toolkit

The light is non-thermal, so nothing burns, stings or heats up. It is pure, warm-feeling calm, and it suits even the most sensitive skin.

How your session works

1. Settle in. Lie back in a private treatment room and get comfortable.
2. Goggles on. Protective goggles keep your eyes shaded the whole time.
3. Light on. Your specialist therapist positions the Dermalux panel over your face and chooses the settings for your skin.
4. Rest. Thirty minutes of warm, quiet stillness. Drift off if you like.
5. Glow. Up you get and straight back to your day. There is no downtime at all.

One session or a course?

One session is the perfect pre-event glow: book it the week of a wedding, a party or a big photo and walk in looking fresh. For the real transformation, go for a course. Dermalux advises 8 to 12 sessions, and our LED course makes that easy.
