Yes — you can book hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) at PURE Union Square, our flagship Aberdeen spa in the heart of the city centre, as part of our advanced wellness suite alongside our infrared sauna, cold plunge, dry floatation and LED.
What it is: HBOT takes place in a pressurised soft-shell chamber — it looks a little like a thick, comfortable tent. You relax inside while it's gently pressurised to around 1.3 bar (just above normal atmospheric pressure) and breathe air that's about 90% oxygen, compared with the roughly 21% in the air around us. The combination of raised pressure and higher-concentration oxygen means your body takes in more oxygen than usual, which dissolves into your bloodstream. A trained team member checks you in and stays with you throughout — sessions are calm and easy, and most guests simply relax or read.
